For the first time, Darren is handing No Mud, No Lotus to ten beta readers and asking them to read beyond the writing—to tell him what they felt, where they were confused, what stayed with them, and what they think the book is actually about. This is the beginning of an experiment in letting other people see the story and discovering what they see that the author can't.
